Priyamani made her second Bollywood appearance in RGV's Rakta Charitra, opposite Vivek Oberoi and fellow South star Suriya.The movie deals with conspiracies that shroud the 2005 assassination of Andhra Pradesh's political leader Paritala Ravindra.Vivek Oberoi plays Paritala Ravi and Suriya takes the role of Ravi's political nemesis, Maddelacheruvu Suri.Priyamani plays Gangula Bhanumati, Suri's (Suriya) wife. she, who tried her luck in Bollywood with Raavan, found the film turning out to be a dud at the BO. In fact, she hoped for recognition through the film. Now she is self assured of the expected recognition through the fresh film 'Rakth Charitra' in which she plays a pivotal role. She says, "I owe my reputation in Bollywood to Maniratnam. Through the film 'Rakth Charitra' my popularity augments and the credit goes to Ram Gopal Varma. I'd be left with more offers coming my way. Because, the mode of Ram Gopal Varma is so unique and the film is supposed to be a great one."She regrets the blame game prevalent in Bollywood saying, "Once a film turns successful the director and the lead actor of the film are acclaimed. But the failure of the film results in lead actress' loss of opportunities."
