When not working hard to eradicate decades of knowledge about vaccines and their effects, it seems Jenny McCarthy has found some time in her busy schedule to also chip away at progress made in reducing gender stereotypes.
“I think there is more of a microscope, and I think it’s harder to maintain. It’s really hard when two people are famous. I was in that type of relationship where there were two big microscopes and it’s really hard.”
But McCarthy is seeking a new man, and she finds Hollywood types to be a bit too froofy for her tastes. At the American Music Awards, she mused:
“It’s tough to find a man’s man…I’m from Chicago. I’m from the South Side, where guys eat meat and potatoes. They don’t know what a vegetarian means. They’re a guy through and through. Out here, they want to borrow my makeup and concealer. I want to bring a little bit of importing into my life hopefully, and look for guys outside of LA.”
She continued in the same vein:
“I don’t care if they have a big nose. I don’t care if they’re bald. Just really sweet and who’s a perfect reflection of who I am now… They have to have a job. I’d like them to at least be able to buy dinners and stuff like that. That is important.”
